Educational seminars — Quality and Integrity in Public Procurement
The project was co-financed by the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF). Two seminars were organized in the framework of the project, focusing on the issues of corruption risks related to public procurement and identification of anti-corruption tools. The project was realized in cooperation with TI-S and TI National Chapters in Slovakia, Lithuania and Bulgaria.

Transparent Municipal Budgets
The aim of the project was to help general public understand the process of local budgets’ preparation, management and control, and contribute to effective use of control mechanisms in public finance management.

A project that commenced TIC efforts to continually improve general public knowledge and understanding of public finance management. This project focused on explanation of the state budget’s expenditure side.

Prosecution of Corruption
The purpose of the project was to open a discussion over the efficiency of prosecution of corruption and other serious economic/financial crimes in the Czech Republic, using comparison with the situation in Slovakia.

Transparent Health Service
The project focused on increasing the level of transparency in all processes and at all levels within the health care system. A number of analyses and other materials were published, identifying the highest risk areas and key problems of health care system in the Czech Republic.

Political Corruption - Transparent processes in political decision-making I
TIC in 2005 launched this project intended to tackle political corruption in CR. The first phase of the program was focused on intra-party democracy, political (party) finance, politicisation of the central government administration, selected problems of the Czech legislative process and the functioning of the Parliament, investigation of crimes committed by elected representatives. So far, the main outputs of the project are: public opinion survey on transparency of czech political finance; international conference on political corruption in 2006; 5 policy papers on the above mentioned topics. |

The project monitored and analysed the system of distribution and use of EU Structural Funds in the Czech Republic.

Conflict of Interest
The goal of this project was the enactment of an effective and enforceable new law governing the conflict of interest. The goal was achieved and the new Act came into effect on 1 January 2007.

This project was designed to help solve problems of lack of transparency and corruption in local and state administration in the city of Prague. The project included a meeting of representatives of the capital cities of the Visegrad countries in February 2003. |

Transparency in the Police
Project dealing with the problem of corruption in the police. The first step was a survey on Corruption in the Czech Police in 1999. In October 2001 the second phase of the project was completed, a comparison of anti-corruption strategies in the police in 25 countries. The result was a publication entitled "Crossing the Thin Blue Line". The project activities in 2002-2004 focused on the introduction of regular integrity and ethics training for police and students of police schools. |

10th International Anti-Corruption Conference (10. IACC)
The tenth international gathering of corruption experts took place in Prague's Conference Centre from 8-10 October 2001. TIC organised the Conference together with the international secretariat of Transparency International and with the financial support of the Czech Government. |

"Art Against Corruption" Exhibition
An international exhibition of posters, postcards, photography, humorous drawings, literary essays and film documentaries was held in a mobile hall on Prague's Wenceslas Square from 5-12 October 2001 as a fringe event of the 10.IACC. |

Transparency in Municipal Communication
The aim of this project was to assist Czech towns and municipalities to communicate openly and intensively with citizens, in order to increase their interest in the affairs of their municipality. TIC carried out a questionnaire survey of town and municipal offices and organised meetings of representatives of municipal offices with the public, local experts and interest groups in three localities. The results of the project assisted the creation of a Communication Manual for Local Municipalities, which can be found in electronic form at www.komunikujici-mesto.cz. |

Act on Free Access to Information
In cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the Institute for East-West Studies TIC organised seminar on the subject of the Act on Free Access to Information then being prepared. At the end of January 1999 TIC carried out a successful media campaign for the acceptance of the law by the Czech Parliament. |
