Legal Advice Centre

The Anti-corruption Legal Advice Centre (ALAC) provides citizens with free-of-charge legal support in cases where elements of corruption can be identified.

ALAC is primarily offering basic legal support, i.e. information and guidance for all members of the public on protection against corruption, related legislation and relevant public supervisory bodies. In justified cases, ALAC may provide the victims and witnesses of corruption with long-term support and assistance of legal professionals. Such extended legal support is only provided to those who are willing to take an active involvement in the case, i.e. are willing to file a complaint and take part in subsequent court or administrative hearings. In selected cases TIC may provide this support to applicants who are unable to meet this criterion due to fear of revenge.

More detailed information on ALAC and its activities is available in reports summarising each year of its existence. The reports include statistical breakdown of cases, the analysis of legal issues and recommendations concerning present anti-corruption policy of the government. Here you may download the 2007 activity report.
